Biographical/Historical Note

Members of the Stirk family immigrated from Wolverhampton, Staffordshire England and settled in Savannah, Georgia during the eighteenth century.


Scope and Content Note

This collection contains photocopies of letters, marriage certificates, indentures, and a newspaper clipping from the Stirk family of Savannah, Georgia from 1726 to 1847 and 1992. There are some letters from Samuel Stirk (1756-1793), an attorney in Savannah, to his parents, Nathan and Mary, in England. The original documents are in possession of the donor.
