The Talmadge Memorial Bridge spans the Savannah River between downtown Savannah, Georgia and the neighboring state of South Carolina. The current bridge was completed in 1991 and replaced the cantilever truss bridge that was built in 1953 and had become a danger for large ships entering the Port of Savannah via the Savannah River.
This collection contains an aerial photograph from the 1960s of the original Talmadge Memorial Bridge between Savannah, Georgia and South Carolina.
