Charles J. Johnson, Jr. attended Yale University and studied law at Harvard University. He then worked for over thirty years at the New York, New York law firm, Brown and Wood where he was a partner. In 1988, he relocated to the Landings in Savannah, Georgia. Johnson is the author of a 1990 book on securities law, His corporate finance and the securities law, and a 2002 book on Mary Telfair of Savannah, Georgia, Mary Telfair: the life and legacy of a nineteenth century woman.
This collection contains Charles J. Johnson, Jr.'s 1996 unpublished manuscript, The Telfairs and their legacy: the story of the Telfair Museum of Art and the people who created it, with his handwritten notes.
