Biographical/Historical Note

Walter Fleetwood Gibson (1872-1935), a native of Savannah, Georgia was the son of Laura Fleetwood and Captain William Tinsley Gibson who owned several steamboats on the Savannah River. Gibson graduated from the Eastman National Business College in Poughkeepsie, New York, in 1889. In 1918, he married Nettie V. Bancroft (1861-1949) and the couple settled in Millhaven, Georgia.

This collection contains a framed photograph of Walter Fleetwood Gibson and his wife, Nettie V. Bancroft Gibson from around 1920.
