This collection contains property transfers and wills from Chatham, Effingham, Screven, and Telfair Counties (1839-1892); a memorandum of persons who drew land under the act of 12 May 1812 in the state of Georgia; bills of sale from Savannah-area merchants; papers relating to the fire insurance claim of the Altamaha Free and Accepted Masons Lodge #227; and an incomplete, unidentified genealogical chart.
The collection is arranged into five series: County records, arranged by county; Land lottery participants; Bills of sale, arranged chronologically; and Genealogical material.
