Miriam J. Brown was born in Newington, Georgia. During World War II, she was an activities director for the U.S.O, a service organization, which provided food, entertainment, contacts with home, and other services for military servicemen. Following the war she became a librarian for the Georgia Historical Society. She died in Savannah, Georgia.
This collection contains sheet music from Jenny Lind (1820-1887), correspondence, research notes, and genealogies belonging to Miriam J. Brown of Savannah, Georgia from 1957 to 1974. This collection includes Brown's research notes and written genealogies of the Boykin and Brown families.
