Anne Gordon Sweat resided in Savannah, Georgia.


Scope and Content Note

This collection contains photographs of the Savannah Volunteer Guards and members of the Ward, Whitcomb, and Gordon families from 1886 to 1910. The photographs of the Savannah Volunteer Guards are from the 1880s with the men stationed at Camp Northen near Griffin, Georgia. Also included is an 1898 tintype of Julia and Susan Green, the African American employees of the Ward, Whitcomb, and Gordon families. There are also photographs of African Americans throughout Savannah, Georgia from the 1880s to 1890s.
