George S. Owens was the commissioner of roads for Chatham County, Georgia.
This collection contains a memorandum of agreement between George S. Owens, the commissioner of roads for Chatham County, Georgia and workman, Arnold Riberen on 22 July 1869 to repair the bridges on the Ogeechee Road from the city of Savannah, Georgia to the spring on Cloud's Hill, four and a half miles from the city.
