Biographical/Historical Note

The DuPont family resided in Savannah, Georgia with relatives in both South Carolina and Florida.


Scope and Content Note

This collection contains materials relating to the DuPont family of Savannah, Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida and their related families, the Wirts and Girardeaus from 1890 to 1973. Included within this collection are photographs, bible records, correspondence, family genealogies, estate information, legal documents, certificates, diplomas, and other miscellaneous materials regarding the DuPonts. Majority of these papers relate to Letitia Breckenridge Wirt DuPont (d. 1912) and her daughter, Rebecka Black Dupont (d. 1942).
