Biographical/Historical Note

The Savannah Art Association is a volunteer nonprofit organization established in February 1920 to develop art appreciation in individuals and to further art as a part of the cultural life of the community. The Savannah Art Association holds art classes, exhibits, and art festivals throughout Savannah in order to promote the appreciation of art.

Scope and Content Note

This collection contains forms, bylaws, press releases, building leases, minutes, correspondence, photographs, accounts, scrapbook, and other miscellaneous records from the Savannah Art Association from 1975 to 1997. Included in this collection are their records from the Savannah Arts Festival and various exhibits and workshops planned by the organization.
