Biographical/Historical Note

John Graham was the former Royal Lieutenant Governor of the Province of Georgia, whose land was seized during the American Revolutionary War due to his loyalty to King George III of England.

Scope and Content Note

This collection contains a transcription of a claim filed by John Graham in 1789 to recover the losses he sustained during the American Revolutionary War in Savannah, Georgia. This claim was transcribed from photocopies of the original documents which can be obtained from the Public Record Office in Surrey, England. These documents were transcribed by Laurice E. Fetzer and Richard V. Byrd in 2001. This collection also includes a computer disk with the typed transcription.
