The Georgia Chemical Works was located in Augusta, Georgia.
This collection contains an agreement on 24 December 1863 between the Georgia Chemical Company and Mrs. H. C. Griffin of Savannah, Georgia for the hire of African American slaves to work in the Georgia Chemical Works in 1864. The names of the four slaves and the prices for which they were hired out to the Chemical Works by Griffin are listed on the back of the document.
