Katherine Morrell Driscoll was born 15 February 1922 in Savannah, Georgia. In the 1940s, before she was married, she resided at what was referred to as the "Little House" on 711 East 41st Street in Savannah. She died 4 September 1996 in Savannah.
This collection contains letters written to Miss Katherine Morrell from 1942 to 1947. Majority of her correspondence was received from soldiers from various branches of the military serving in World War II (1939-1945). The soldiers wrote their letters to Driscoll from their military bases and would recount their memories of visiting her at the "Little House" in Savannah, Georgia as well as their experiences in the military and serving in the war. Also included are letters from Katherine's family and friends. The letters in this collection are in their original envelopes and are not arranged in any particular order.
