John P. Boring (d. ca. 1907) of Woodstock, Georgia was the father of James R. Boring (1879-1942) also of Woodstock, Georgia in Cherokee County.
This collection contains materials relating to the Boring family of Cherokee County, Georgia from 1832-1931. Majority of these papers are the land indentures, deeds, wills, and titles that were involved in the purchase of land in the fifteenth district of the second section in Cherokee County, Georgia by John P. Boring and Will L. Dean. There are also accounts from the building of property on the land acquired through the legal documents in 1905 and photographs of homes in Woodstock and Holly Springs, Georgia where the family lived. Photocopies of some of the deeds are also included.
