Biographical/Historical Note

Batt Wyche was born in 1767 in Richmond County (formerly St. Paul Parish), Georgia. He died at the home of his daughter, Nancy C. Wyche, in Decatur County, Georgia, and is buried in McElveen Estate, Montgomery County, Georgia. Many of the Wyche family members resided in Montgomery County, Georgia.


Scope and Content Note

This collection contains a family Bible dated 1806, which was passed down in the Batt Wyche family. Also included are miscellaneous genealogical notes regarding the Wyche family of Montgomery County, Georgia and other family names including: Clayton, Groover, Hugenin, Rogers, and Rossitter. The collection also includes genealogy information for Batt Wyche dated 2007. The collection was transferred from the Georgia Archives to the Georgia Historical Society in 2008.
