The cemeteries were located in the former Purrysburg settlement, a site formerly within Beaufort District, South Carolina. Also include is a description of the Strobhar Memorial Monument, noting that the land had been owned by the Strobhar family since the settlement of Purrysburg by Swiss immigrants in 1732; the cemetery was once known as "Arm Oak."
