George R. Lee served in the Civil War in the Screven Troop of Georgia Cavalry.

This collection contains a letter from George R. Lee from the Isle of Hope, Georgia to Catherine Enecks of Egypt, Georgia on 17 September 1862. Lee served in the Screven Troop of Georgia Cavalry during the American Civil War and wrote this letter to Enecks while he was convalescing at the Isle of Hope.
