Biographical/Historical Note

The Coastal Scottish Heritage Society was founded in Savannah, Georgia in 1979. Its objective was to promote interest in and preserve the traditions of the members' Scottish heritage. Membership is open to anyone of Scottish heritage age 18 or older with an emphasis on families. The club's newsletter, "The Thistle Missile," was originally published quarterly, but is now published bi-monthly. The club is still currently in existence.

Scope and Content Note

This collection contains organizational files of the Coastal Scottish Heritage Society, Savannah Georgia, from its founding in 1979 to 1997. The first box deals with the club's history, bylaws, rosters, membership records, and newsletters. The second box contains financial information, minutes of board meetings, minutes of general membership meeting, and correspondence. Folders 8-11 in the second box also contain Scottish genealogies that were created by club members.
