Scope and Content Note

This collection consists of a microfilm copy of a bound manuscript volumes of genealogical information. The first roll, 1741-1874, contains information on the Stiles and Mackay family. It includes transcriptions of letters with a few originals throughout. Most of the letters show the name of the owner and location of the originals. The first roll also includes genealogical charts, photographs, and a transcription of the diary of Captain Robert M. Stiles, 1864-1865. The second roll contains a bound volume of genealogical information, 1803-1912, on the Couper and Wylly family. It includes genealogical charts, original letters with some transcriptions, photographs, and additional genealogical and historical information at the end of each letter.

The materials were microfilmed by the University of North Carolina in 1942.
