Biographical/Historical Note

The colony and state of Georgia underwent many changes in leadership during the span of years covered in these records which include materials from the Colonial Era, Revolutionary Era, Early Republic, and Antebellum Era.

Scope and Content Note

These two volumes contain commissions or appointments, by the Governor of the Colony and State of Georgia, of individuals to government or military positions. The volumes also include commissions for equipment and supplies for England's war with France.

These volumes are photocopies of the originals located at the Georgia Archives. An index, located in the front of volume 1, indexes both volumes.
