The Southland Oil Company was founded by Norman A. McGee in 1950 in Savannah, Georgia. It began as a business for the retail sale of gasoline but later evolved into a large independent tank storage facility that provided petroleum products, bulk liquid storage, and related services to businesses throughout the nation and the world. Following the death of McGee in 1979, the business was sold to a group of British investors.
This collection contains business correspondence and records from the Southland Oil Company in Savannah, Georgia from 1951 to 1962. Also included are photographs and promotional booklets on the Southland Oil Company with their brief organizational history.
