Biographical/Historical Note

John Hopkins was a Savannah River pilot whose land was seized during the American Revolutionary War due to his loyalty to King George III of England.

Scope and Content Note

This collection contains a loyalist claim filed by John Hopkins on the 23 March 1784 to recover his property that was confiscated during the American Revolutionary War because of his loyalty to King George III of England. This document is a photocopy of the original which is housed at the Public Archives of Canada.
