Biographical/Historical Note

Mary Savage Jones Anderson (1873-1958) was the daughter of George Fenwick Jones (1841-1876) and Anna Wylly Habersham (1849-1888). Mary Anderson lived in Savannah, Georgia, with her husband, Clarence Gordon Anderson, Jr. (ca. 1873-1961).


Scope and Content Note

This collection consists of a typescript of Mary Savage Jones Anderson's memoir, "Days Beyond Recall," of her childhood in Savannah and at Avon Hall (White Bluff, Chatham County, Ga.) with her grandparents, William Neyle Habersham (1817-1899) and Josephine Habersham Habersham. This manuscript was written for her young great-nieces, Bessie Dixon (later Mrs. John Hurst Purnell) and Josie Dixon (later Mrs. Robert Johnson III).
