Joseph W. Webster (ca. 1813-1860) was born in New Hampshire. He moved to Savannah, Georgia, while a young man. He was a partner and merchant with Smith, Denslow and Webster Company. He died in Palatka, Florida, and his family moved to Putnam County, Georgia.
This collection consists of a ledger belonging to Joseph W. Webster. The ledger, dated 1842-1859, accounts for supplies for ships. Also included with the ledger are 18 loose letters and documents belonging to Mr. Webster.
Material was acquired from a descendant of the creator.
