Henrietta Maria Thomas (1799-1874) was a native of Baltimore, Maryland. She accompanied her brother, Dr. Richard Henry Thomas, also of Baltimore, on a trip to Florida and Cuba. They stopped in Charleston, South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia on their way to St. Augustine.
This collection contains a typed transcript of a letter by Henrietta Maria Thomas to Julia. The letter tells Julia about the city of Savannah and some of the prominent citizens. Included in this collection is an introductory page identifying the Thomas family with excerpts from some of Miss Thomas's other letters.
