Biographical/Historical Note

The Savannah Bicycle Club was organized on February 7, 1884. The first officers were: W.W. MacKall, President; A.H. MacDonnell, Vice-president; W.A. Turpin, Captain; John Furton, Lieutenant; J.R. Saussy, Jr., Bugler; and U.H. McLaws, Secretary/Treasurer.


Scope and Content Note

This book contains minutes and excursions of the Savannah Bicycle Club from February 7, 1884 to January 15, 1885. Newspaper clippings pertaining to their activities are also included. Members of the Savannah, Atlanta, Macon, and Columbus, Georgia Clubs are listed in the back of the volume.
