Patrick Tuberdy (ca. 1833-1900) was born in County Clare, Ireland. He emigrated to the United States and established a shoe business in Savannah, Georgia. From 1876 or 1876 until 1896 his business was located at 136 Broughton Street. However, at earlier and later dates, his business operated at different locations. He served throughout the Civil War with the Irish Jasper Greens.
This collection consists of an advertisement for Patrick Tuberdy's shoe business, marketing him as a "dealer in boot, shoes, and gaiters." The ad is a printed poster bearing his business' address as 136 Brought Street, Savannah, Ga. As his business was located at this address from 1875 or 76 until 1896, this advertisement dates from that time period.
