Robert Flournoy (1763-1825) was born in Virginia. He married Mary Willis Cobb in 1794. Flournoy was a Captain in the 1st Georgia regiment of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. A wealthy land owner, he also served in the Georgia Legislature.
This collection consists of a 1795 land grant from Georgia Governor George Mathews to Robert Flournoy for 1,000 acres in Liberty County, Georgia. A plat and pendant seal are attached.
