This collection consists mainly of letters to Mr. and Mrs. James S. Canon and Mrs. E.W. Canon from London, Taunton, Yeovil, Woodhall Spa, England and from County O'Meath, Ireland. They contain information about the history of the Hazzard (Hassard) family and the location of the family home in England. Two of the letters concern the history of the Thornton family. The Canons lived in Guyton and Savannah, Georgia at the time these letters were written. Included in the collection is an unidentified photograph of a group of soldiers in camp. There are three newspaper clippings about the Hazzard family in England; photocopies of the clippings are filed with the originals.
