Biographical/Historical Note

Caroline Price Wilson (1860-1936) was born in Greenville County, South Carolina, the daughter of Martha and Colonel William Pierce Price of Dahlonega, Georgia. She married Dr. Walter Scott Wilson of Savannah, Georgia. She was a member of several cultural and patriotic societies, and was a noted genealogist. She wrote several articles on facets of Georgia history which were published in the Georgia Historical Quarterly. She abstracted and compiled Annals of Georgia (Savannah: 1928-1933), 3 vols., and with Mabel F. La Far Abstract of Wills., Chatham County, Georgia, 1733­1817 (Savannah: 1936). In addition to her published works she abstracted many genealogical records, some of which are available in the library of the Georgia Historical Society. Scope and Content Note

The papers in this collection include genealogical notes, charts, and correspondence of Caroline Price Wilson. Also included are two plats for land in Effingham County of Elijah Tiner (1806) and Benjamin Alexander (1813). Collection materials date from 1806 to 1936.
