Anna (Ann) Mathews White (1818-1852) was born in Savannah, Georgia. She was the daughter of Steele and Ann M. White.

Scope and Content Note

This collection consists of Anna Mathews White's composition notebook, 1828-1832. It contains compositions, poetry, recipes, household remedies, and penmanship exercises. Some of the poems are signed by Anna M. White, others by Catherine Bulloch; many poems are unsigned.
