No biographical information is available for Frederick Oxe.
John Wertsch lived in St. Matthews Parish (Effingham County). He received grants for several tracts of land in St. Matthews, St. Philips, and St. Georges Parishes and town lots in Ebenezer, 1764-1770.
This collection consists of two deeds from Frederick Oxe to John Wertsch for 150 acres in St. Matthews Parish. The first leases the land, originally granted to Oxe, to Wertsch for 6 months. The deed is dated January 3, 1771; the year was incorrectly recorded on the deed as 1761, but Oxe was not granted the land until May 2, 1769. The second deed leases the same land to Wertsch for 6 months, dated January 2, 1769; again the year is incorrect and should read 1779. Both deeds are in fragments.
