Biographical/Historical Note

Henry Davis Weed was born in Connecticut in 1803; he died in Savannah, Georgia, in 1875. His son, Joseph Dunning Weed (1839-1906), named his son Henry Davis Weed (born 1873).

Scope and Content Note

This collection consists of a list of "Divestments in 1862 and 63" and "Assets," 1862; these include penciled notations and are unsigned. Also included is a promissory note from Henry D. Weed to George S. Haines, Savannah, 1916. It is stamped as "paid." This 1916 note is most likely from the grandson of the first Henry D. Weed (1803-1875).
