Biographical/Historical Note

Annie Sturdivant (d. ca. 1955) was the widow of W.A. Sturdivant.


Scope and Content Note

This collection consists of two letters collected by Annie Sturdivant of Savannah. The first letter is from Robert Falligant, President of the Confederate Veterans Association, Camp 756, written to Mrs. James Lester Sexton, President of the Daughters of the Confederacy, 1900. Falligant writes that CVA, Camp 756 thanks the UDC for the Crosses of the Legion of Honor bestowed on each veteran and for their other acts of kindness. The second letter is from C.H. Dorsett, President of the Peoples Savings and Loan Company, to Mrs. A.B. Hull, 1920, regarding locating and marking the line of batteries used for the defense of Savannah during the "War Between the States."
