Thomas Edward Screven (1796-1866) of Grahamville, Beaufort County, South Carolina, was a physician and a planter.
This collection consists of a bond for debt, binding George and M.L. Allen to Dr. Thomas E. Screven, Committee of John Dupont, "idiot" (a contemporary term for mental illness). The bond is dated 1856 and is receipted as paid in full by Thomas E. Screven in 1859.
