Jane E. Pritchard (b. ca. 1820) lived on St. Helena Island in Beaufort County, South Carolina.
This collection consists of two deeds of gift for slaves belonging to Jane E. Pritchard of St. Helena Island, Beaufort District, South Carolina. The deed is written from Pritchard to Eliza Louisa McTurens and Benjamin F. McTurens, who were the children of Alfred H. McTurens of Beaufort District, South Carolina. Both deeds are dated August 20, 1855. The slaves given to Benjamin McTurens were Sylla and her children, Sarah and Becka; Emily and her children, Enoch, Nelly, and Mag, were given to Eliza McTurens.
