No biographical information is available on T.L. Prevette. He is not listed in the Confederate roster under the 6th Georgia Infantry, even though the manuscript lists him as a member of this regiment. There is, however, a Joseph S. Prevatt listed in Company E of the 6th Georgia Infantry; he is listed as a musician. It is possible that the name "J.S. Prevatt" was incorrectly recorded as "T.L. Prevette" on the manuscript.
This collection consists of song lyrics, "The Confederate Flag, Red, White and Blue, air: 'Gum Tree Canoe,'" composed and sung by T.L. Prevette. Co. E. 6th Georgia Regt. It is written on note paper decorated in color with a drawing of Jefferson Davis superimposed on the Confederate flags and crossed cannon.
