Biographical/Historical Note

Thomas Pledger, Sr. (ca. 1764-1856) was born in Granville County, North Carolina. He married Nancy Ann Leavister and worked as a farmer in Elbert County, Georgia. He died in 1846.

This collection consists of a land grant to Thomas Pledger, Sr. of Elbert County, Georgia for Lot 850, 40 acres, in the 11th District, 1st Section of Cherokee County, Georgia. This was a gold lot. The plat and pendant seal are attached.
