Scope and Content Note

This collection consists of a letter to Caroline Morgan from her friend, Julia ?, dated July 8, 1840. Julia lived in Sand Hills, Augusta, Georgia. In the letter, she describes her new home and furnishings in detail and includes a sketch of the main floor plan. She also describes social life in Sand Hills and mentions a party to watch the opening of a night-blooming Cereus. Julia also mentions a mechanical toy. Caroline Morgan lived in Rochester, New York.
