Biographical/Historical Note

Sophronia Kennedy Metzger (1839-1876) was born at Sisters Ferry in Effingham County, Georgia. She was the daughter of John and Dorothy Kennedy Metzger. She married Augustus Henry Mallory.


Scope and Content Note

This collection consists of Sophronia Kennedy Metzger's commonplace book, 1860-1861, which contains poems written to her by friends and engraved illustrations. Title: Album of the Heart, New York: Leavett & Allen.
