James Jackson was a son of William H. Jackson and a grandson of General James Jackson. He was a lawyer, served in the Georgia House of Representatives and the U.S. House of Representatives, a judge of the Superior Court, Associate Justice, and Chief Justice of Georgia, 18789-1887.
This collection consists of a letter from James Jackson, July 22, 1885, regarding the sale of lands for taxes; he is referring to George Sibbald's land. The letter is written on stationery of the Supreme Court of Georgia.
