Biographical/Historical Note

Edward Burd Hubley was born in Reading, Pennsylvania. served in the U.S. House of Representatives for Pennsylvania. On November 8, 1842, he was elected as a commissioner to settle claims under the 1835 treaty with the Cherokee Indians.


Scope and Content Note

This collection consists of a letter from Edward Hubley to Mary J. Hubley, 1843, describing Augusta, Georgia. Mary Hubley was in Germantown, Pennsylvania.
