Charles Seton Henry (1797-1867) came to Savannah from Albany, New York. He was an attorney, a city alderman, a judge, and a founding member of the Georgia Historical Socity. He married Sarah R. Aborn in 1927. He died in Savannah on August 19, 1864 and is buried in Laurel Grove Cemetery.
Robert R. Henry (1771-1851) was a resident of New York, and father of Charles Seton Henry.
Five of the six papers in this collection concern the case of the Executors of John Vernor Henry vs. Robert R. Henry. The exception is a letter, incomplete and unsigned, of Robert R. Henry to an unnamed person, 1832. It is the only paper in his hand; the others are by Charles Seton Henry.
