Biographical/Historical Note

Charles Gildon was a Savannah, Georgia storekeeper. He is referenced in early Savannah newspapers between 1805 and 1855. Gildon's shop was located on Lot 6, Digby Tything, Decker Ward which faced Ellis Square from 1815-1823.

Scope and Content Note

This collection contains a cashbook from the store of Charles Gildon and covers January 1, 1820 to November 17, 1820. It contains transaction records including cotton sales and personal accounts.
