The first Provincial Congress of Georgia convened January 17, 1775 and recessed January 25, 1775. It was limited in power because it represented only five parishes and some of its delegates were under restrictions as to the type of association it could adopt. The second Provincial Congress assembled on July 4, 1775 in Savannah at Tondee's long room with 102 delegates representing every parish but two. Archibald Bulloch was elected President and George Walton was elected Secretary.
This collection contains the proceedings of the Provincial Congress, July 4-8, 1775, and Journal of the Siege of Savannah from the South Carolina and American General Gazette, December 10, 1779.
