In 1860, Mary R. du Bose (b. 1811) lived with her five children and son-in-law Robert W. Campbell (b. 1838) in Fernandina, Florida. Mary's husband, Maitland Soutter, was in the 2nd Florida Cavalry Regiment, Confederate States Army, during the Civil War. The du Bose family is related to the Miller family of Augusta, Georgia.
This collection consists of materials concerning the Campbell, du Bose, and Miller families. Included are an indenture for a lot in Fernandina, Florida; poetry; Robert W. Campbell's will; an autograph book; and notes on the genealogy of the Miller family of Augusta.
