Biographical/Historical Note

Pierre Colomb was a French officer who served in the Georgia Line and was taken prisoner at the fall of Savannah to the British on December 28, 1778. After being released, he served as Aide-de-Camp to Generals Lafayette and DeKalb.


Scope and Content Note

This collection consists of one letter sent from Ebenezer and dated March 27, 1779. It is from Augustine Prevost to Pierre Colomb on board the Whitney announcing his liberty as prisoner of war. Note in pencil after the signature, "In hand of son."
