Scope and Content Note

This collection consists of a letter from Sheldon C. Dunning to Joseph H. Chaplin dated August 22, 1813. In the letter, Dunning asks Chaplin to find him a house in Augusta, Georgia and also discusses the prospect of the Peninsular War continuing. Chaplin's reply, dated August 29, 1813, is on the back of Dunning's letter, and it discusses the difficulty finding a house, prices of commodities, and Wellington's victory over King Joseph.
