Biographical/Historical Note

J.C.C. Blackburn (d. 1889) was a journalist and editor of the Barnesville Patriot. He lived in Barnesville, Georgia, and died in Atlanta.

Scope and Content Note

This collection consists of a letter written by J.C.C. Blackburn, in Barnesville, Georgia, to Governor Joseph E. Brown on July 4, 1862. Blackburn is requesting a certificate of loyalty for Captain Francis Reviere who wishes to visit his sons in the Confederate Army.
