The Reverend Samuel Edward Axson (1836-1884) was the son of Reverend Isaac Stockton Keith Axson (1813-1891), pastor of the Independent Presbyterian Church. Samuel Axson was the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Rome, Georgia.
This collection consists of two folders of sermons written by Reverend Samuel Edward Axson between 1866-1879. The sermons give the dates and places where delivered. The collection is arranged chronologically. Also included is a photograph of Axson.
The folder containing the photograph is noted as "VM" (visual material) in the collection inventory.
Material was acquired from family member of creator.
